Itinerary
Day 1- Arrival Meet and Assist.
Arrive at Cairo International Airport; you will be met by our representative who will assist you in getting your visa, then will escort you through immigration, luggage, and on to your air-conditioned bus for the Le Meridian Pyramid, Pyramid View room.
Day 2- Saqqara, Memphis, Giza.
After breakfast you will meet your guide in the lobby and start your tour to the great pyramids of Giza, you will take a camel ride into the desert with amazing pictures of the pyramids behind you (voluntary of course), we will see the sphinx and boat museum. Then a drive to what is left of the ancient capital of Egypt: Memphis, where we will see the statue written about by the poets Shelley and Smith called Ozymandias. We will also see a huge sphinx made entirely of alabaster. Then we will head to Saqqara for the first pyramid built by the architect Imhotep called the Step Pyramid; we will explore its underground hidden chambers, visit the pyramid of Unas, and a mastaba of one of the noblemen. After this full-day, we will return to Le Meridian Pyramids, Pyramid view room. Meals B & D.
Day 3- Visit the Egyptian Museum and Old Cairo.
Cairo. After breakfast this morning, we will head to the Egyptian museum with the largest collection of exclusively Egyptian artefacts, including the gold and golden mask of King Tut. We will also visit the royal mummy room with all the ancient pharaoh’s whose tombs and temples you just visited. Then we will drive to Old Cairo to visit the oldest churches, synagogues, and mosques in Cairo. Finally ending back Le Meridian Pyramids, Pyramid view room. Meals B & D.
Day 4- Fly to Luxor and tour Luxor museum, discover Luxor Market by horse carriage.
Luxor and Cruise. After breakfast this morning we will take the 1-hour flight to Luxor where we will check-in at the Sonesta Saint George. We will take a horse and carriage ride to Luxor Museum and enjoy a meal at a local restaurant and back to our hotel Sonesta Saint George Royal Club room. Meals B & D.
Day 5- Tour valley of the queens, Nobles tombs.
Today we have a tour to the Valley of the Queens, that includes the queen’s tombs, and King’s son’s Tombs with the beautiful colours. We will lunch at a local restaurant and then go to the Valley of the Nobles. The tombs here are not as spectacular, but the drawings are of everyday life and interesting to see how they lived and worked. Many of them are newly opened, and they are still discovering tombs in this area. Back to the hotel Sonesta Saint George Royal Club room. Meals B & D.
Day 6- Tour Karnak and Luxor temples.
Luxor. After breakfast, we will check out of our amazing cruise boat and visit the Luxor East bank. We will stop at the largest temple complex in the world, the 64 acre Karnak temple with its oldest parts from 2000 BC and added onto for 1200 years of pharaoh’s dynasties. Then we will follow the avenue of the Sphinx to Luxor Temple, much smaller but just as interesting with the remnant of Ancient Egypt, Ancient Rome and even Coptic and Islamic era building. We will then head to Our Luxury Nile cruise Ms Sonetsa Saint George. Meals B. L & D.
Day 7- Tour valley of the kings, Hatshepsut Temple and village of the workers.
After breakfast today and head to the Valley of the Kings where you will see tombs looking like they were just carved and painted yesterday. The colours and skill will amaze you, and your personal Egyptologist will explain the purpose and symbols of the journey to the afterlife depicted on the walls. As a special treat, you will see the small but amazing tomb of King Tutankhamen with his mummy still residing there. We will then visit the Worker Village where you will see the life of the middle class who worked on the tombs; you will have a chance to visit their personal tombs, much smaller than the king’s tombs but well preserved with amazing colours. We will then visit the mortuary temple of Queen Hatsheput and walk up the ramps where her priests paid homage for generations. Finally, on our way back to the cruise ship, we will stop at the Colossi of Memnon, the huge statues of Amenhotep III. back to our Nile cruise Ms Sonetsa Saint George. Meals B. L & D.
Day 8- Edfu, Kom Ombo and Sailing Day.
After breakfast, we will meet our guide who will take us on a horse and carriage ride to the Temple. Edfu Temple is the best preserved of temples in Egypt and dates to the Greek era in Egypt, 237 BC. This is the best example of a fully intact ancient Egyptian temple with the sacred boat still in the holy of holies. We will be back to the cruise ship by lunch and enjoy the afternoon Sailing to Komombo. Once the boat dock there you will meet your guide in the lobby to walk a few meters, that temple was built and dedicated to two gods Sobek the crocodile and Horus the falcon, back to the cruise to continue Sailing to Aswan for Overnight. Day 9- Aswan high dam, and Phila Temple
After breakfast we will head to the Aswan High Dam for viewing of this architectural wonder, then on to the Philae Temple which is on an island moved from its original state because of the retention water of the dam. Philae Temple was dedicated to the goddess Isis and was in use up until the fourth century AD. After the temple, we will go to the granite quarry where we will see the largest obelisk attempted to be quarried in one monolithic piece. We will end our afternoon back at the cruise ship for lunch, and later we will enjoy a sailboat ride ( Felucca ) then back to our Luxury Nile Cruise Ms Sonetsa Saint George. Meals B. L & D.
Day 10- Adventure to Abu Simble and fly back to Cairo.
Check out of the cruise to start your tour to Abu Simbel temple back to Aswan to catch your flight to Cairo, upon arrival meet and assist by our rep who will check in your five stars hotel. Fairmont Nile City Deluxe Nile view room. Meals B & L.
Day 11- Alexandria full day Tour.
Alexandria. After breakfast, we will board our bus for the two-hour drive to Alexandria, where we will stop at the modern library. Then we will visit the Roman era catacombs, Pompei’s pillar, and amphitheatre. We will have a seafood lunch overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Then we drive back to our hotel in Cairo Fairmont Nile City Deluxe Nile view room. Meals B & L.
Day 12- Cairo and Home. After breakfast, you will be picked up for your final bus ride to the airport for your flight back home.
